OUR INVISIBLE SOCIAL DISEASE
From ancient times, India has been
famous for its education, culture, and discoveries. Planned towns, Governance, and trade have made a significant contribution to Indian society.
Reforms have been carried out. Old ideas have led to economic liberalization
in the country. New industries have affected the social system. Today the
social situation has changed. The standard of our daily life has
changed. And the biggest struggle for this change was the youth of
India.
It is the youth who decide which way the country will go and which is
important for the country and which way they want to take the country but
today we have come to a situation where most of the youth of the country are
living their lives aimlessly, and that situation of a generation is called
Generation Nowhere.
Generation Nowhere:
Generation Nowhere:
We often hear from our elders in a slightly remorseful tone - Which way is
the current generation heading? and it is precisely this kind of
remorse that has created the word Generation Nowhere.
Craig Jeffrey is the Director and CEO of the Australia India
Institute and a professor of Human Geography at the Institute of Melbourne.
Who uses the term first and brings it to our attention. He used this term
based on the current situation and employment of the Indian youth in an
article by ResearchGate. And from where the word spread among the
people.
Craig Jeffrey |
He noticed that the problem of unemployment in our society has reached an
extreme stage. Where present unemployed youth are spending the whole time
aimlessly without any attempt at a job, whom he referred to as Generation
Nowhere. When a whole generation does not participate in the
development of the country, it is never pleasant for the country to live
aimlessly. But it is not just our youth who can be blamed for this. The
ongoing crisis in our jobs that has reached the highest levels has created
frustration among the youth. They want to keep themselves busy most of the
time with their mobile, social networking sites, and their lives.
- The reason behind this social problem:
Youth is the most important factor in the development of a society and when
this youth is reluctant to work, it is natural that there are many important
reasons behind it. We have a lot of reasons why young people in our society
are so frustrated that they no longer have a job.

Smartphone addiction is a very serious problem in our entire generation.
From young children to an adult, everyone is addicted to it
today. Today's youth, where spend most of their time playing games, or
watching videos instead of using a product for their important
time. The mentality of an entire youth generation is starting to get
distorted where they are more interested in spending time behind likes on
social media where they are prioritizing their social media life over their
real life.
There is a psychological effect somewhere
behind this mentality. Our kind of youth spends years preparing
themselves for their exams where they get frustrated due to lack of suitable
exam environment and gradually they become reluctant to go out and they
start busying themselves in the mobile world. Which is very harmful to
our society. If we can utilize this youth properly, it will be the
biggest key to our development. And if that happened that is our failure and
this failure will delay us for many years. Our country and society should
overcome this failure and use our alliance in the right way for the
development of the country.

Job Crisis :
needs a proper job that justifies his education. Bringing out the best that
can be used for the benefit of the country is a shame for us as a society if
it cannot be done. We should put the right person in the right seat and
get the best out of him which can be used for the benefit of the
country. The country will never be able to do anything else unless it
provides the right person with the right place. In our social system,
an educated boy is roaming around for a job. And then when he has to
wander around desperate for a bellow average job, he is forced to do very
little work, and his degree becomes meaningless to him and his purpose in
life. No work is small any work is honorable but when a Ph.D. passer is
frustrated and forced to take exams then his Ph.D. fails it's not his
failure it's our society's failure that we can't utilize our proper
resources.
Informal Sector:
When an educated young man does not get a job, he becomes frustrated and
joins the informal sector job in his area where he is unable to use his
education properly. Entering a job where his education is not valued, he is
forced to work in the informal sector where he has no job security, low
wages, low entry barriers, and has to work very hard mentally and
physically. According to Sarath Dawala's report in India, 96% are informal
sector. It is a failure for us that we are not able to properly employ the people who are facing such an era of such a large population.
